Welcome to the Outdoors Inn. Relax and enjoy real island living in
the casual, atmosphere of our eclectic 1890's home. The interior is mostly tongue and groove juniper
on the walls and ceiling. We enjoy restoring our home and complete a new
project every year. We offer free bicycles and a wide range of activities
at our outfitters store
located 1 block from the Inn in the historic downtown Manteo waterfront area.
Located in the historic section of downtown Manteo, this 2-bedroom
Inn offers you private baths, queen size beds, central heat & air
conditioning, refrigerator and television in room, hair dryers & am-fm radio alarm
clock. We also have a vcr and dvd player in each room and have a large
selection of movies to watch. We offer fresh coffee & a full hot, home-made breakfast.
A typical breakfast includes; eggs in some form, sausage or bacon,
potatoes, grits or pancakes, baked goods, fruit, yogurt, homemade
granola, breads, juice, coffee or tea. We serve breakfast
buffet style so you can eat anywhere from 7:30am - 9:30am. It's
not an all you can eat buffet but there is always plenty for all but the
most serious big eaters. We are within
walking distance of the many shops and sites of the historic area of downtown Manteo.
You may wish to ride our bicycles to the various parks and aquariums on
Roanoke Island. Plus we are only a five minute drive to the beach.

Your Hosts
Your Innkeepers, Matt and Pam Landrum enjoy sharing
their home with guests who prefer a more personal touch and the camaraderie
of the small Bed & Breakfast experience . We have three children who are all
grown. You might glimpse them occasionally during the summer months.
Matt was boat builder & marine electrician for sport fishing yachts
for years.
He also restores old boats when he's not building new ones. We have
been restoring our home for the last several years and you can see
Matt & Pam's handiwork
throughout the house. Matt now runs our outfitters store "The
Outdoors Outfitters" with Pam and their children.
Your hosts are avid water sports enthusiasts. Matt & Pam are both boat
Captains as well as Scuba Dive Instructors. In addition to running
the B & B, Pam teaches scuba diving, kayaking and offers kayak tours.
Pam is also the author of a kayak guide; A Guide to Sea Kayaking in
NC. If you are interested in kayaking, you can take a
Kayak Tour or lesson or purchase the book by clicking the picture:

New for 2010 is the opening of our new outfitters store "The
Outdoors Outfitters". We are located just 2 blocks
from the Inn in the waterfront district of Manteo. If we're not at
the Inn were most likely at the store. Stop by and see it.
THE OUTDOORS OUTFITTERS,
210 Budleigh Street, Manteo, NC 27954
Pam and Matt know the Outer Banks inside and out. Pam used to be a
Naturalist with the Cape Hatteras National Seashore and Matt grew up on
Hatteras Island where his family operated several restaurants. He has run
his own charter fishing boat for years and now builds them.
We have 2 yellow labs, 1 older mixed dog and 1 black cat. We do not
allow them into the B & B. The cat comes and goes and is very
people friendly. Ignore him if you don't like cats. The dogs
live in their own section of the yard and have their own house. If
you are a dog lover, you are welcome to visit and play with them.
Just ask us to introduce you to them first.
About our pets.
We love pets and have several, however you won't see them in the
guest areas of the B & B. We don't allow guests to bring their pets since
too many people have allergies. The beach in the summer is not the
best place for your pet. It's hot, most beaches don't allow pets
in the summer, there are fleas, you can't leave them in the car when you
go shopping, sightseeing or eating. There are several kennels
locally that do board pets. We would be glad to recommend one.

How to find us:
Follow signs to Roanoke Island and Manteo. Find U.S. Highway 64 , which is the main
road across the Island. Turn right on Budleigh Street. (Third
stoplight on your right. There will be a Colony Tire store on your right). Take your first
left onto Uppowoc Avenue. We are the second house on the left and are on the
corner of Uppowoc and Ananais Dare. Look for the blue fence. Turn left on Ananais Dare and park along the curb on the side of the house. |
